Iben Li is a Danish artist with a long and diverse practice. With a background from the Aarhus School of Architecture, Iben early on developed an understanding of form and spatiality. Combined with an apprenticeship at the Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, focusing on developing and acquiring classical methods, this has provided Iben with a unique and broad foundation for her artistic work.
Artistically, Iben works across multiple media, including ceramics, drawing, painting, film, installation, and performative works. Her practice has encompassed exhibitions, VJing, total installations, illustration, and the development of young talents.
In her artistic exploration, Iben is particularly concerned with the Anthropocene, as well as the interconnectedness of all things and the transformation from one form into another. Many of her works explore new mythologies that draw attention to cyclical and ephemeral states, where no clear distinction exists between human, nature, or culture, but where everything emerges and dissolves within the same atoms.
